i am curious if my observations are correct.
i noticed alot of exjws end up majoring in the social sciences.
i am also interested in what educational choices people have made either while fading or while completely out.

And unless you make over 250,000 your taxes won't increase.
Not true. A policy or proposal should be strong enough to stand on its own merit. Your lying about it undermines the message Bernie Sanders is giving. Taxes will rise for all in a variation of forms including capital gain taxes and a tax to subsidize universal health coverage which includes those under $250,000 earned income.
Source: The Tax Foundation, an independent tax policy research organization, found that Sanders’ plan would lead to 10.56% lower after-tax income for all taxpayers, and a 17.91% lower after-tax income for the wealthiest Americans. When accounting for reduced GDP, taxpayers would see their after-tax incomes fall by 12.84% on average, the report said.
A better argument would be that Bernie Sanders tax increases would be a wash because of the benefits it supposedly would bring: For example an increase in taxes would be offset of the medical coverage it provides, etc.
The rest of your argument is opinion with not a single substantiating fact.
i'm curious about the following:.
1) how long have you been a fader for?.
2) how often do you still get pressure from congregation members and/or family to return as an active witness?.
1.) I faded or left in 1996
2.) Never
3.) Personally only know of myself and brother so about 20 years. My mother and sister are only ones still in and they are not very active.
4.) Nope, and don't care. I haven't been to my congregation in twenty years. I don't exist in the JW world.
5.) Just treated as inactive if I run into anyone that knew me from my childhood
6.) Never was endangered of being DF. I just moved three hours north of my congregation as a teenager and stopped attending.
7.) 0, I haven't been to a memorial in like 15 years, and went to a few meetings and one assembly two years ago out of curiosity. A boring waste of time too lol. I've spent more time on this site in the last 20 years than at a kingdom hall.
8.) The org is completely powerless over my life with the exception of my mother. Talking to my mother about the many faults of the borg only depresses her. At times I have to remember not to be so critical of the watchtower around her.
can you imagine if a person was refused services because they were black?
or because they were christian?
there would be nationwide outrage.
I don't agree with the refusal of services to anyone, regardless if their gay or not. I support human rights which encompasses rights for gay people. In the USA the last I knew there were no federal laws protecting gays in regards to many issues (hiring, services). I'm not sure if there are federal laws even for hate crimes for gays. I think that should be the focus.
However, one thing I'm adamantly oppose to is destroying a person that is a bigot, racist, or religious zealot. That is the problem I have with organizations like La Race, Cair, NAACP, LGBT groups, etc. Instead of focusing on changing laws and attitudes, often it includes destroying a person and their lively hood. Their are many examples of this.
i would probably collapse laughing.
years ago when i was "in" i loved the book study.
it was my favorite meeting by far.
mainly because it was a small group.
I left before the Isiah books came out. I think the last book study I went to was the greatest man book. That was around 1999 or so. I was basically inactive in 95 but would attend the book studies once in a while at an elder's house. It was far more enjoyable than the kingdom hall.
I was long gone by the time they canceled it, but glad for my mother, as it one less bs she has to attend.
there was a case in my old congregation that is shrouded in mystery that i'd like to share and get your views.
this is something i've wanted to talk about for years but it's strongly shot down if you even try to talk about it in my old congregation.. it involves a certain brother b.. in my old congregation this brother was well liked.
as a kid, we all knew him for being fascinated with dinosaurs.
Wouldn't it just be easier to look the guy up and ask him? Unless he is dead it really isn't that difficult to find someone.
sorry in advance if you have.

in the u.s., three's company was not allowed.
it was explained to me that it was an immoral show because a man and women lived together and no one was married.
the sister who gave this observation was a family friend and we were newbies to the religion.. at least i somehow managed to watch the benny hill show undetected..
I only had 5 channels from late 70s to mid 90s. My family either didn't have access to cable or couldn't afford it.
We had only one TV and we watched whatever my father was viewing. My father wasn't a witness but enforced their silly rules.
With that being said we were only banned from:
Married with Children, Roseanne, and the cartoon Dungeons and Dragons.
I didn't watch a lot of TV growing up.

oh that was horrible. Curious if they will start releasing christian albums. They need more products to bring in revenue. They can only cut expenses so far.
I am also curious of those they choose to put in their videos. Are they chosen by status?
